Results of the "Meeting Format" Survey
By Sweetwater Camera Club
At the November 2008 meeting, a survey was taken of the 32 members present to gain input concerning the Sweetwater Camera Club's meeting structure. Here are the results:

1. Have a time keeper for the meeting: 20 votes Yes, 12 votes No (items left blank = No)
2. Change the Meeting Time and/or format, (printed newsletter & e-mail) of the business meeting: 15 votes Yes, 17 votes No.
3. Limit the number of entries in the photo contest: 15 votes Yes, 17 votes No.
4. Do not change the meeting agenda: 6 votes Yes, 26 votes No.
5. Other (Please specify): Here is a list of 14 members' comments placed on the ballots:

a. We'd like to have lobster at every meeting!!!!
b. Move field trip on-line with popular vote. Alternate contest with presentation every month.
c. Limit the number of entries in the contest if there are too many entries if a lot of entries continue (to be a problem).
d. I like the on-line options for business and contests.
e. Have the judge pick during the business meeting. Only display the winners of each contest on the screen. The photos are already displayed on the table. Have the Judge comment on winners only (why it was selected).
f. I suggest moving the social hour before the meeting to allow people to bring photos and get them checked in etc. Start at 6:30 with the social period & have meeting at 7:00 p.m.
g. Limit critiques - If you want a critique, mark it down on a list.
h. Use a bell or buzzer.
i. Please have a brief report from the Treasurer each month.
j. Count entries & divide by time allowed. Make Judge go to next entry when time expires.
k. Just speed up the judging process on critiques. No one should be limited to how many images they want to share . . . it is someone's passion and the only time to show their work.
l. Let committee chairs determine what we need. This should get more people involved in the club.
m. Have social time before the meeting.
n. Speed things up to reduce the average age in the group.
