Notable Website
By Secretary

I would like to recognize Shoot Smarter TV (www.shootsmartertv.com) as a notable website.  While enjoying the offerings of this site is not free, the site is comprised of photography-related educational videos with new offerings being added all the time.  The site sells "tickets" which are good for the next 30 days after date of purchase ($20) or for the entire year ($200).  Any of the videos on the site can be viewed as often as you would like within the time frame of your ticket purchase.  The videos cannot be downloaded for viewing, and must be viewed online.  The most recent video series that has been added is a series on lighting and posing by master photographer, Don Blair.

If you are thinking about taking an online photography course, the cost for a year of Shoot Smarter TV appears to be pretty much in line with the cost of one good, eight-week online photography course.

Shoot Smarter TV and the site it spun off from -- ShootSmarter.com -- are the products of photographer and photo-educator, Will Crockett, and were created to help photographers who were looking to gain more control of light, color and exposure issues.  More writers were soon added to cover topics such as Photoshop (Suzette Allen) and light control (Chris Grey).  The Shoot Smarter site is filled with all sorts of articles (which they refer to as "SMarticles") on various aspects of photography written by photographers.  One could spend a lot of time reading these articles!

So, in a nutshell, the Shoot Smarter site is a site containing mostly articles which can be accessed for free after registering on the site.  It goes without saying that they have an online store from which they sell DVDs, books, etc. as well!  The Shoot Smarter TV site is a site containing educational videos which can be viewed online after buying tickets.

Check em' out.  You may find an article, video, or other resource which is exactly what you have been trying to find!
